Israeli theater is very vibrant, with many professional repertories, theaters, and dozens of regional and amateur companies performing throughout the country to large and devoted audiences.
Some of those include the award winning Gesher Theatre, whose unique bi-lingual company has contributed to Israeli theater culture by introducing the proud tradition of Russian drama; Habima, the national theatre of Israel; and the Cameri Theatre of Tel Aviv which was the first company to stage realistic portrayals of Israeli life and has contributed to the development of Hebrew theater with a lively repertoire, including a major series of original Israeli dramas and adaptations of major classical and modern hits.
FIA was proud to help sponsor the Cameri Theatre's acclaimed production of “Hamlet” at the Signature Theatre, in the Shakespeare in Washington Festival in 2007.
